Majapahit - The Lost Empire

Majapahit was one of the ancient kingdom in Indonesia was established in 1293-1500 M. Kingdom of this culminate in the triumph of power Hayam Wuruk, in power from 1350 until 1389. Kingdom of Majapahit consists from the Malay peninsula, Kalimantan, Sumatra, Bali and the Philippines. Majapahit Kingdom was the last Hindu kingdom in the Malay peninsula and is considered as one of the largest country in the history of Indonesia. Power range in Sumatra, Malaya peninsula, Borneo and eastern Indonesia, although it was still debated.

Very little physical evidence of historic Majapahit. and the story not clear. The main source used by historians is Pararaton ( 'Book of Kings') in the Kawi language and Nagarakretagama in the ancient Javanese language. Mainly to Pararaton Ken Arok (founder of the Kingdom of Singhasari) but only a few short sections of Majapahit. Meanwhile, Nagarakertagama Java Ancient poems written during the Majapahit golden under government Hayam Wuruk. When Majapahit was founded, Muslim traders and muslim misionaris was entry into nusantara . At the end of the 14 th century and early 15th century, the influence of Majapahit in the entire nusantara start decreasing. At the same time, a kingdom that trade based on Islam, the Sultanate of Malacca, began appearing in the western part of the nusantara.

Note the history of China, Portugal and Italy shows that there has been movement of power from the hands of the Majapahit Hindu ruler to hand Adipati Unus, the ruler of the Sultanate of Demak years between 1518 and 1521 M.

Kalimantan is an island located in the northern island of Java and in the West Island of Sulawesi. Divided into areas of Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia. History of the name

Borneo was taken from the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam, before the kingdom is very large and wide, including Serawak and partly of Sabah because some Sabah is the property of Mindanao-Sulu sultanate. Portuguese traders call Borneo and is used by Europe. However as the natives call Pulo Klemantan.
